July and August
This is a time of fantastic growth on the Christmas tree farm, and we have to keep a close eye on what is happening. Weeds can smother young trees, trees can succomb to hungry pests, particularly aphids (see left), and pot-grown trees must be carefully looked after during dry weather.
The last few years, we have also used this time to expand our car parking facilities.
Wildlife is also in abundance at this time of year. In this photo you can clearly see a bumble bee. Ladybirds are also frequent visitors as they love to feed on aphids.
